You know that big list of dreams and goals you’ve been compiling for years. The one with to-do items like swimming with sharks and finally going skydiving. It’s a list that many people like you have. For some, this might mean reading a new book or spending more time with family and friends. For others, it might mean getting in shape or trying a new hobby.
But staring at a long list of life-defining adventures can often lead to feeling depressed and disconnected. Maybe there is a better way. Shifting the way you look at that big list of dreams, from a list of things you want to do before you die to a list of things you want to do right now, might lead to a more rewarding and ultimately fulfilled lifestyle.
And when you’re making your list, don’t forget to include the small things. Like sitting down with your family more often, or reading those books you’ve been meaning to get around to.
Those small wishes may be just as important to a fulfilled life as those larger dreams. And here is another tip. Look at your bucket list as a living document. Let it grow and change as you grow and change. Ultimately, what you do now is up to you, but changing the way you look at that big list of aspirations may be the shift in perspective you need to live better today.
